The end of one day and the beginning of another

Today in Second Life we had:

23,902 new signups bringing us to 10,132,633 signups total.
A peak concurrency of 50,209 at 1:55PM, and a minimum concurrency of 27,520 at 12:50AM. Median concurrency for the day was 38,441.
The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.25 (lower is better).
Linden Lab announced a rolling restart tomorrow morning to put a couple of minor fixes into place.
Shortly before midnight we received numerous reports of Lindex exchange problems, and just after that word of widespread asset system failures - including possible loss of no-copy items when rezzed. Be careful in there.

A peak concurrency of 50,116 at 1:45PM, ~~and a minimum concurrency of 28,356 at 11:50PM. Median concurrency for the day was 40,118.~~
I've struck out the unreliable portions of data today due to the problems with the Linden Lab data feeds yesterday and today.

Today in Second Life we had:

A peak concurrency of 50,709 at 1:50PM, and a ~~minimum concurrency of 27,156 at 1:25AM. Median concurrency for the day was 37,648.~~
Ignore the struck through data above. Linden Lab's data feeds ceased functioning at 15:40 PM SLT (US Pacific) today. Bug reports have been filed.
Linden Lab published key metrics for September.
The voice system failed for approximately 20 minutes today.

Today in Second Life we had:

21,622 new signups bringing us to 10,065,246 signups total.
A peak concurrency of 52,935 (a new record!) at 1:50PM, and a minimum concurrency of 27,761 at 11:50PM. Median concurrency for the day was 39,557.
The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.73 (lower is better).
Problems with login servers around noon, and a failure at Vivox that led to widespread problems with voice on the mainland this-evening.

A peak concurrency of 49,379 at 2:55PM, and a minimum concurrency of 29,462 at 1:15AM. Median concurrency for the day was 40,384.
The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.29 (lower is better).
Problems with one of the major Internet connectivity providers impacting Internet services to many European residents, including access to Second Life.

We hit the ten millionth signup at around 9:35PM today.
Median signup rates are 48 days per million, and the eleven millionth signup is due on 29 November at current projections.
A peak concurrency of 49,135 at 1:55PM, and a minimum concurrency of 26,291 at 1:20AM. Median concurrency for the day was 37,274.
The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.37 (lower is better).
Linden Lab introduces new liaison staff: Patch Linden, Kosmo Linden, Trinity Linden, and Kate Linden.

A peak concurrency of 46,768 at 2:25PM, and a minimum concurrency of 25,789 at 1:15AM. Median concurrency for the day was 36,598.
The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.45 (lower is better).
The latest bleeding edge version of Nicholaz Beresford's excellent series of Second Life viewers is available now.
Electric Sheep are launching a user-friendly viewer of their own in conjunction with CSI:NY.
We had a rolling restart today. The only listed change is code to track and collect information about teleport failures.
Havok's been redeployed on the beta grid with a slew of bug fixes.

The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.74 (lower is better).
Linden Lab moved to quash rumors of a price-rise this quarter.

The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.88 (lower is better) - operational problems through much of the day, but only a couple of severe patches.

Today in Second Life we had:

19,542 new signups bringing us to 9,879,396 signups total.
The ten millionth signup is due in 6 days, but Linden Lab apparently plan to load test the registration system over the weekend, which will inflate the number of signups artificially. The accounts created as a part of the testing will be removed when the load test is done.
A peak concurrency of 48,292 at 2:15PM, and a minimum concurrency of 26,704 at 1:15AM. Median concurrency for the day was 37,788.
The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.39 (lower is better) - Some late problems to the day were resolved quickly. The Second Life website threw quite a number of errors and timeouts between 9am and 11am SLT (US Pacific).
Yankee Group redacts their strange engagement claim, without repudiating it, and still claims that the report is good.
Friends Online is up and down for load-testing.
Havok 4 is tentatively back on the beta grid.

At current, median signup rates, the ten millionth signup is due in 6 days, 19 hours.
A peak concurrency of 45,900 at 2:20PM, and a minimum concurrency of 26,091 at 1:35AM. Median concurrency for the day was 36,434.
The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.79 (lower is better).
The Havok 4 beta had to be temporarily pulled due to data-corruption problems.
Friends Online is back again, late this-evening at last.
Zee Linden posts a FAQ and some answers on VAT policy and promises a Town Hall on Monday to answer more questions.
Bragg vs Linden Lab is settled out of court, and Marc Woebegone returns to the Second Life grid.
A rolling restart to close a security problem, and to re-fix a recent problematic bugfix.

A peak concurrency of 48,172 at 1:45PM, and a minimum concurrency of 25,615 at 3:05AM. Median concurrency for the day was 36,922.
The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.43 (lower is better).
Linden Lab's Neuro Linden put forward an explanation for the grid problems in the first two days of the month. A combination of issues with a new rolling restart process, network issues and a failed VPN server.
Melbourne Laneways opens at ABC Island.
Linden Lab announces a rolling restart early tomorrow.
